In The Salon with: Julie Grondona
This summer we are checking in with our incredible senior stylists to tell us a little about them and a lot about their work! First in the hotseat this season is Julie Grondona, Senior Stylist at Pink & Rose.
With over 25 years of experience under her belt, Julie is undoubtedly one of the most experienced – and fabulous – stylists we know and sure we are proud to have her on our team, but we didn’t want to keep her expertise all to ourselves! Read below for her lowdown on all things her and hair.
Q: What makes a senior stylist?
A: I believe that it is the knowledge and experience that comes with years of hairdressing and the interaction with clients that comes with it. My view is that you never stop learning so you can never stop improving!
Q: what is your favourite treatment to provide?
A: I cant narrow it down to just one! Precision cutting right through to the finished look is always incredible to do but so is colour and the creativity that comes with it! When I look at a colour shade chart I’m like a child in a sweet shop!
Q: 3 words to describe you?
A: Focused. Fun-loving & Energetic!
Q: 3 words to describe your work?
A: Passionate. Committed & Creative,
Q: What do you love about being a hairdresser?
A: Hairdressing was always a love at first sight for me – it was all I ever wanted to do. Its an amazing thing when a career and a passion come together. I think of myself as an artist where hair is my canvas & client satisfaction is my reward! I also love the fact that I can pass on my knowledge to junior members of the team – working closely with them to help their talent blossom is hugely rewarding!
Q: What wonderful places has your work taken you around the world in your 26 years as a hairdresser?
A: After training locally here in the UK, my career has taken me to several incredible cities including right into the heart of London as well as coastal resorts in Spain too. I also worked in Southern Ireland for a while until I found myself brought back full-circle to lovely leafy Pinner!
Q: What is your top tip as a hairdresser?
A: First & foremost – putting your clients totally at ease! Nothing makes a better hairdressing experience than having them relaxed from the moment they enter through to finishing their treatment. I believe its about making their treatment with me so enjoyable they look forward to returning!
