Holiday Hair: Travel tips!

This week we have teamed up with Travel Counselor Eva Adams to find out what hot spots are being hit up this holiday season! Whether you are on holiday or just planning your next one – we give you the top tips to care for your hair wherever you are vacationing!

With Easter just around the corner, what are the most popular Easter breaks being booked now?

EVA: We are getting a lot of families travel to the warmer European destinations such as Malta, Spain, Italy & the Greek Islands this time of year.

HAIR TIP: Warmer climates, particularly by the coast, can mean frizz for all hair types! Not to mention hats keeping hair flat! We recommend a serum to coat hair and keep it smooth, sleek and frizz-free and when picking a serum – always go for a lightweight one to help prevent weighing down hair so it still keeps its bounce!

What popular summer-breaks are families looking to book with the children?

EVA: Disney World in Florida is hugely popular! The kids love it and there is plenty of fun and adventure for the whole family.

HAIR TIP: With plenty to see and do kids can often be far too distracted to let mums and dads comb their hair! To keep it tangle free we always advise combing through a leave-in conditioner at the end of bath time – this helps detangle hair and prevent knots once dried. A pretty or fun hair tie for long hair also never goes a miss at being popular with little girls and tied hair means tangle free too!

What do Travel Counselors recommend for us London-Lovers planning a stay-cation this season?

EVA: Travel counsellors have branches all over the world so whilst I send clients away, my colleagues in South Africa, Australia and the USA send them all over here to us! So, have plenty of recommendations from sight-seeing to activities right here in the UK.

HAIR TIP: Spring time isn’t the*best* of weather so if this Easter you’ll be braving the outdoors for plenty of nature or city fun, we recommend keeping hair neatly tied or in a bun to prevent environmental stressors such as city pollution or gusty winds from damaging or tangling hair. For those who want to splurge on a treat Nanokeratin treatments are great this time of year to smooth hair and add shine all the way into summer!

Where is the new trend-setting, jet-setting destinations for this summer?

EVA: Croatia is becoming very popular as it’s not too long as flight but provides some beautiful weather and natural beauty. For the more adventurous types; Safaris are another popular one.

HAIR TIP: Summer is beautiful time of the year but for hair it can mean dryness and damage. Always invest in a shampoos and conditioners with UV protection to help prevent damage to hair from the sun’s UV rays which can dehydrate hair. Always be sure to use a weekly hair masque too to prevent split ends and breakages caused by dry heat stripping away the hairs natural moisture.
